Not all church goers are church members. Merely attending a church is not sufficient to make a person a member. Only those who believe in Christ and have been born again can become a full member of the church - Christ's body.
We have two kinds of membership in our church: 1) Full Membership and 2) Associate Membership.
(1) You must be born-again. Those who believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God and receive him will be born again.
(Matthew 16:16) "Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
(John 1:12) "Yet to all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
(2) You must be baptized.
(Matthew 28:19) "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
(3) You must become a member of a House Church
(4) You must attend and complete the Living Life Bible Studies
(5) You must join the church through applying for membership.
Baptism does not confer automatic church membership. The Church is expecting you to make a decision to become a member after you have been baptised. Therefore, after you are baptised, immediately request church membership.
A process flow outlines the steps to becoming a full member:
1: Be born-again -> 2: Be baptised -> 3: Complete the Living Life Bible Studies -> 4: Become a member of a House Church -> 5: Apply for membership
An associate member is someone who is not yet born-again and attends a house church. This person may or may not have attended the Living Life or other Life Series Bible Studies. However, s/he attends the services and activities of and associates with our church.
3.1 We must faithfully participate in all church gatherings.
(Acts 2:46) "Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts"
3.2. We must uphold, respect and practice our church's teachings and policies.
(Acts 2:42) "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
